The Opportunity:

The Quality Control Technician ensures all MSI TEC products meet high-quality standards from start to finish. This person inspects incoming parts, checks products during assembly, and performs final tests before shipment. They maintain accurate quality records, troubleshoot issues, and work closely with production and engineering teams to keep processes compliant with ISO 9001 and electrical standards (NFPA 70, NFPA 79, UL508A).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect materials, parts, and finished products for quality and Identify and document defects or nonconforming items.
  • Conduct in-process and final product inspections using precision tools.
  • Serve as an additional quality checkpoint for compliance with national electrical and safety standards.
  • Record inspection/test data and documentation in the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Work with Production and Engineering to resolve quality issues.
  • Suggest process improvements and maintain proper documentation.
  • Assist in final packaging of product prior to transferring to the shipping team.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of quality inspection or production experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in preparing, terminating, and landing electrical wiring, with the ability to wire control panels directly from electrical schematic.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Proficiency in using precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, gauges, micrometers).
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Effective communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer systems.

Preferred Qualifications (nice to have):

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Quality Assurance, Electronics, or Manufacturing Technology.
  • Previous experience with electrical panel assembly, automation systems, or industrial controls.
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles, 5S, or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience working within a Quality Management System (QMS) or ERP software environment.
  • Certified Quality Technician (CQT) or similar professional credentials.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach or train others in quality processes.
  • Proven track record of continuous improvement and cross-department collaboration.
  • Entry knowledge of ISO 9001, NFPA 70 & 79, and UL508A standards.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent standing, movement, and handling of small parts.
  • Lift up to 40 occasionally.
  • Good color and visual acuity for inspection work.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly Range: $30-$33, non-exempt, depending on experience, skills, and certifications.

Location and Hours:

The position is Monday through Friday during daytime hours, based on-site in Centennial, CO. The position may occasionally require extended hours as needed.
