Electromechanical Technician Lead – CO

This position Electromechanical Technician Lead is primarily responsible for building electromechanical assemblies, leading a build team, or overseeing a work cell. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Read, understand, and utilize various engineering, electrical, and manufacturing documents including bills of materials, assembly drawings, assembly instructions, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Construct electromechanical assemblies with little supervision and in compliance with company and/or UL standards.
  • Oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Complete the required computer entries with accuracy and attention to detail within the organization’s digital systems.
  • Perform testing and/or re-work at the request of QC technicians.
  • Adhere to Good Documentation Processes & ISO9001 guidelines.
  • Manage and communicate a project’s progress to the Production Engineer and Management
  • Take on special projects outside of normal production, as needed.
  • Take on Engineering projects or first-time builds where engineering documentation is still in-process.
  • Collaborate with Engineering on lessons learned and document improvements.
  • Guide a work cell of other technicians and be willing to teach and lead by example.
  • Keep apprised of work cell efforts to ensure error-free products and proper process adherence.
  • Oversee shop stock such as wire spools, fasteners, labels, and work with the Materials group to order more when necessary.
  • Assist the assigned work cell members when help is needed, delegate tasks as required, answer questions on the floor, and/or refer members to the proper person who would be able to assist them.
  • Place production team’s Non-Inventory Requests in ERP System; this includes shop stock, tooling, and packaging materials.
  • Attend weekly Production Meetings and project kick-off meetings as needed.
  • Identify areas in need of improvement OR areas where efficiencies could be implemented – i.e., work instruction updates, work environment improvements, new tooling ideas, etc.
  • Establish priorities and/or delays with the Production Manager during the weekly meeting and communicate updates as needed.
  • Work with the Production Manager and Materials to determine when to release production orders which are still awaiting materials, and/or when pre-building would be advantageous.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work area.
  • As well as any other tasks as required.

Desired Education, Skills, and/or Work Experience:

  • Fluent in English (speak, read, and write).
  • 2-year technical degree or completion of an electrical apprenticeship program, or 5-7 years on-the-job experience.
  • Strong layout, wiring, and wire management skills are preferred.
  • 1+ years’ experience with NFPA 70 standards (wire gauges, wire colors, etc.).
  • 1+ years’ experience with UL508A Standard for Industrial Control
  • 2+ years’ experience with electrical safety and personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical diagrams, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Experience with ISO 9000 Quality Management Systems within manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Experience with calibration practices and torquing equipment
  • Ability to manage a production work
  • Highly motivated and able to manage time, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines independently.
  • Basic understanding of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) principles as well as the ability to interpret technical material and problem solve.
  • Proficiency in using hand, power, or measurement tools in a safe and effective manner
  • Shows strong emotional intelligence by managing emotions, understanding others, and building positive team relationships.
  • Dedicated to working alongside and providing training to all electromechanical technicians.
  • Able to learn/use email, ERP system, Microsoft office, Teams, and label printing software.
  • Consistent attention to detail and organization.
  • Requires the ability to sit/stand, climb, balance, walk (concrete floor), stoop, bend, kneel, lift (up to 50lbs) and grip.

Compensation:

  • Hourly range is $32 – $35/hourly. This is a non-exempt position

Location and Hours:

  • The position is Monday through Friday during daytime hours, based on-site in Centennial, CO. The position may occasionally require extended hours as needed.
