Description
The Embedded Service 3300 Series (ESS 3300) is a ruggedized, custom designed switch that integrators use to build custom Gigabit Ethernet switching solutions for a range of IoT use cases. The ESS 3300 is ideal for environments with specialized form-factor, size, weight, power, port-density, port-media, and ruggedization needs.
- The ESS 3300 runs Cisco’s enterprise-grade IOS XE. The operating system offers best-in-class security, management, resiliency, and switching features. You can use familiar Cisco CLI or GUI-based web UI to configure switches built with Embedded Service 3300.
- Ruggedized for extreme environments. ESS 3300 boards are ruggedized for industrial conditions, including extreme temperatures, shock and vibration, and high mean time between failures (MTBF). Cisco partners and integrators can develop ruggedized enclosures for customers.
- Power over Ethernet. The ESS 3300 is software ready to support native PoE and PoE+. Integrators can follow Cisco reference design to build PoE systems with custom-designed enclosures to suit customers’ PoE needs.
- Rich Layer 2 and Layer 3 Features to support your switching and routing needs. The 3300 Series switch is ready to support your Layer 2 Switching and Layer 3 Routing needs through are Network Essential and Network Advantage packages.
The ESS 3300 is designed for embedded applications requiring low power, small size, and ruggedization:
- ???? Consists of main board and optional port expansion board
- ???? Conforms to common PC104 form-factor board size (approximately 4? x 4?)
- ???? Main board:
- 2x 10 Gigabit: Small Form-Factor Pluggable Plus (SFP+)
- 8x 10/100/1000BASE-T Ethernet ports (4 of 8 ports can be combo ports)
- RS-232 and USB console
- Expansion board (optional):
- 16x 10/100/1000BASE-T Ethernet ports (4 of 16 ports can be combo ports)
- ???? Common +3.3Vdc and +5Vdc power inputs
- ???? Advanced next generation Cisco IOS-XE software
- ???? Low power – 24W(typical) for mainboard + expansion board configuration
